Mountain Leader Training Association –
Events / Membership Information

Aug 2007

The Mountain Leader Training Association (MLTA) has asked us to publicise a number of important events being staged by them this autumn.

  • For northern based MLTA members on the weekend of 20-21 October there will be a Mountain Skills Course based at Glenmore Lodge, near Aviemore. Cost £25

  • On 17th November Plas y Brenin National Mountain Centre will host the MLTA's second National Conference. Following the great success of our first National Conference last November this event promises to be better still. Cost £50

  • The day following the MLTA Conference (18th November), in conjunction with the BMC & Plas y Brenin, the MLTA is staging a BMC FUNdamentals of Climbing workshop for MLTA members. FUNdamentals has proved to be a highly successful series of workshops for those who wish to teach young people to climb well, but in ways that are not detrimental to their development or health. A day spent with one of the county's leading climbing coaches is likely to improve your own climbing in some way.

All of the above events are for MLTA members only. But membership applications will be accepted at the time of booking.

Membership is open to anyone who has registered for any of the awards overseen by MLTUK and the home nation training boards. Membership of one of the Mountaineering Councils of the UK home nations is also required, either as an individual or as a club member.

For Information Sheets and Booking Forms for all these and other MLTA events go to www.mlta.co.uk
