For a chance to win a DVD copy of E11 The annual festival, which took place 20-22 October, has 3 awards for film-makers to aspire to:
Although E11 was a hot favourite to win one of the prizes, taking all three awards was beyond the expectations of the Hot Aches team, who made the film. Dave Brown, Managing Director of Hot Aches, said: "We are really chuffed. The response to the film has been tremendous. At the premiere it was particularly nice that Dave MacLeod was there with all his family and was able to say a few words afterwards and take the longest round of applause you could imagine."
“It's been a great festival, with five superb lectures and the best selection of films yet, coming from all corners of the globe. We narrowed down over 100 entries to 22 films which we screened during the festival, so the standard of those selected was very high indeed. However, the fact that the People's Award went to E11 means that the panel got it right with their decisions for the Best Film and Best Climbing Film. Both Dave MacLeod and the Hot Aches team deserve huge congratulations.” Plans for the 2007 festival, which will be the 5th such event, are already underway with film-makers invited to submit entries before the closing date of 30 June 2007.
