Members Vote for Incorporation

Following the decision taken at the 2005 Annual General Meeting, members of the MCofS voted in favour of Incorporation at the Special General Meeting on 17 February

Here is a brief report on the SGM, 17 February 2007. Venue: Perth 16:00 hours

The SGM was well attended by a number of clubs and individual members.

After a welcome by the President and a report by Mary Webster of the work done since the last AGM in June 2006, the amendments were discussed.

The amendments to 5.3(i) and 8.3 were accepted unanimously without debate.

Amendment 5.11 generated some discussion and it was agreed that the whole matter of voting could be reviewed once incorporation had been completed. (This had been previously mentioned in the report placed on the website after the regional meetings in November).; It was noted that a club vote can be split to reflect the views of the individual members of a club. This amendment was carried by a majority.

Amendment 8.6 was deemed not to be required and was defeated by a large majority.

It was recorded that procedures for tracking important decisions such as new policies and policy changes should be implemented.

The incorporation vote was then carried unanimously.

The Child Protection Policy statement was then carried unanimously.

 End of meeting.
