Beauly – Denny Power Line Inquiry
Statement of Case

The MCoS has joined with the National Trust for Scotland, the John Muir Trust, the Association for the Protection of Rural Scotland, the Scottish Wild Land Group and the Ramblers' Association to form the Beauly-Denny Landscape Group. The submission to the Scottish Executive Inquiry Reporters – the Statement of Case – was made on 28 November 2006. The full content of the submission can be viewed by following these links (pdf files):

The submission details the reasons why the Powerline should not go ahead. The submission also indicates the amount of work which has already been completed … and there is much more to follow.

While we wish to thank those MCofS Members who have contributed to the Beauly-Denny Powerline Appeal Fund, there remains a significant financial gap between the expenses incurred by the MCofS and the donations received to date. Your contributions will contribute directly to the Inquiry. Please reconsider if you have not already contributed to the appeal fund.

Cheques should be made out to the Mountaineering Council of Scotland, and sent to:

The Beauly-Denny Powerline Appeal

Thank you in anticipation of your support.

Yours sincerely

Chris Townsend
