Beauly-Denny Powerline Public Inquiry:
Appeal for Donations to Support
Provision of Legal Advice

The MCoS has joined with the National Trust for Scotland, the John Muir Trust, the Association for the Protection of Rural Scotland, the Scottish Wild Land Group and the Ramblers' Association to form a group to put forward a case against the Beauly-Denny Powerline at the forthcoming public inquiry. This will require many thousands of pounds as ongoing legal advice is essential. The MCoS is appealing to all members for funds for this work. All money raised will be used purely for the case against the powerline.

The A&C Committee regards this issue as extremely important. If it goes ahead, as well as scarring the landscape itself, the increased capacity provided by the Beauly-Denny Powerline will open the way for new wind and hydro developments in hitherto wild and unspoilt areas. Please contribute to this vital cause.

Cheques should be made out to the Mountaineering Council of Scotland, and sent to:

Thank you in anticipation of your support.

Yours sincerely
