The Institute of Outdoor Learning have received funding from Scottish Natural Heritage to hold workshops between November 2007 and February 2008. These will be a series of twelve ‘workshops’ for outdoor instructors to attend to gain training in how to heighten their clients' awareness and understanding of the Scottish Outdoor Access Code. This is a great opportunity for those introducing new people to the wonders of Scotland's outdoors. We all have a statutory right of access across almost all of Scotland if we exercise those rights responsibly. Outdoor instructors can attend one of these workshops to learn how to introduce the opportunities and attendant responsibilities to their clients in an interesting way, and spread the word of how to enjoy and respect Scotland's outdoor into the future.
